Extended Opening

 

Opening hours on a Saturday are 9am to 12 noon.

 

From 16th July 2009 we will be open on Thursday evening 6pm to 8pm

 

Saturday morning  and Thursday evening appointments are pre-bookable only, this is not an urgent/emergency service. In the event of an emergency please contact the N.E.W (Nights, evening and Weekend )service on 01270 273666 or dial 999 if appropriate.

 

Appointments are available to book up to 4 weeks in advance, which are released on a rolling weekly basis. Appointments are available to book in the same way as week day appointments, which is by telephone, on line or in person at reception.

 

Two doctors and one nurse led clinic are available on a Saturday morning.

 

One doctor and one nurse led clinic will be available on a Thursday evening.

 

The nurse led clinic provides the following services:

 

    * New patient checks and Well person checks, to include lifestyle advice regarding, Weight reduction, exercise and smoking cessation.

    * Cervical Smears

    * Hypertension clinic

    * Primary Cardiovascular risk assessments

    * Travel advise and vaccinations

    * Some chronic disease management (cardiovascular, diabetes, respiratory disease) and family planning services dependant on the individual nursing sister’s skills.

 

Administrative staff are available for:

 

New patient registrations.

Collection and drop off of repeat prescriptions and other paperwork.

General queries

Booking of future appointments.

 

Unfortunately we are unable to perform some activities which include:

 

    * Blood tests

    * Same day appointments and home visits

    * Minor surgery

    * Baby checks

    * Coil fits

    * Treatment room

    * Same day repeat prescription requests.

 

During the extended hours surgeries we are unable to offer access to the surgery via our telephone system.
