If you are absent from work for 7 days or less, you can complete a self certification form or SC2 for your employer and do no need a sick note from the GP. Click here to take you to the Inland Revenue form which you can print off and give to your employer, rather than collect one from the surgery. GP’s here will not supply sick notes for the first 7 days of any minor illness.
